Psychotherapist
I have worked in the helping professions, as a doctor, for 25 years. I qualified as a psychotherapist 12 years ago. I offer psychotherapy for a wide variety of issues and conditions.
Out-patient assessment
I have practicing privileges at the Priory Hospital Southampton and the Nuffield Hospital Bournemouth. I offer out-patient assessment, follow-up and treatment of emotional and psychological problems affecting children and adolescents.
Psychotherapy and counselling supervision
I have provided psychotherapy and counselling supervision since 1994, using my wide training and experience to support therapists individually and in groups.
Trauma services
I have a particular interest in, and focus on, understanding and working with the consequences of trauma – both the effects of single traumas and the outcomes of chronic childhood trauma.
Child and adolescent psychiatry
I have been a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for 14 years. Previously I trained in adult psychiatry. I am able to make assessments of children of all ages, and offer both individual and family-based approaches to the treatment of childhood psychiatric disorders.
